With the beginning of a new school year comes ample opportunity for change. While one might
expect more of the same in returning to Blake’s halls next week, evidently art teacher and Martha Bennett gallery curator Bob Teslow seeks to juxtapose different perspectives through this year’s first Blake Collects exhibit: Challenging Assumptions, opening with a reception on Thursday, October 11th. Each year the Blake Collects series centers around a theme, this year’s exploring topics such as religion, gender, politics, race, power, hunger, ecology, war, and privilege. Teslow encourages anyone in the community–whether it be students, members of faculty, parents, or friends–to submit their artwork.
Submissions of any medium are welcome until September 14th via an online submission form. If you wish to have an in-home consultation visit, please arrange an appointment before August 31st. Please email [email protected] with any questions.
