This year’s Upper School spring play is a classic—the drama department is performing
William Shakespeare’s “Merry Wives of Windsor”, a comedy “without the gloomy princes, evil
monarchs, or star-crossed lovers”, according to the Blake School website. “I know people might
be hesitant to come to a Shakespeare play, but I think the way its directed is really cool because
it’s in the 50s. There are some funny and surprising things that happen, and it’s really
entertaining!” says Kaela Patchen ’14 who plays the part of Robin, Falstaff’s page.
“Merry Wives of Windsor” will be showing on Friday, March 8, at 7:30 pm, Saturday,
March 9, at 7:30 pm, and Sunday, March 10, at 2:00 pm. Tickets are on sale both online at
brownpapertickets.com and in the cafeteria. Shows will be held at the Macmillan Performing
Arts Center at the Blake campus in Hopkins. This modern twist on a Shakespeare comedy
