Did you notice an exhibit in the college counseling wing? Anne Rubin and J.J. Kahle set up an ofrenda to celebrate Dia de los Muertos or the Day of the Dead. Ofrendas have been used to celebrate the holiday in Mexico since before the arrival of Columbus and other Europeans in the 1400s. The holiday lasted three days and the ofrenda was up for all of it. The holiday commemorates the lives of those who have passed away. Rubin hopes to increase the display next year and allow more students to experience some of the holiday.
