News brief: Cyrus Northrop Lounge renovations
Excellence Accelerated, the financial campaign for updated facilities at the Hopkins campus, has resulted in delays to the renovations for the Cyrus Northrop Lounge. Despite the senior class of 2018’s gift for a renovated senior lounge, the Cyrus Northrop Lounge, commonly referred to as the senior lounge remains untouched, except for a fresh coat of paint added over the summer, with minimal workspace.
Joe Ruggiero confirms that, as of present, there is no confirmed date for the senior lounge renovations–including a new rug, coffee table, refurbishments on the fireplace and lounge chairs, and café-style tables to do homework–to be complete as the Buildings and Grounds Department’s attention is still on the middle school. Ruggiero says “It will happen…as soon as possible but I don’t know when.”
