Rower Reflects on her Sport
Annika Gutzke ‘19 started rowing competitively during the summer after her eighth grade year. She remembers sitting in class one day and thinking to herself, “I’m tall; I should row.” She was also drawn to the sport because of the scholarships available for students who excel in the art of rowing.
Although she says that rowing is very physically challenging, she enjoys the fact that rowing “is definitely more of a team sport” than other sports she’s played in the past.
Gutzke also thinks that Blake should have its own rowing team and is willing to present the idea to Forum.
