With the outbreak of COVID-19 sweeping the globe, many students and their families were forced to either cancel or postpone trips. Instead of finding themselves on the beach or the slopes, students are at home due to the ongoing quarantine. Many students are using this at home time to play video games. Popular online games such as Fortnite, Madden 20, NBA 2k20, and Call of Duty: Warzone provide a way for students to interact with each other from home.
Connor Mahony ‘21 says, “Playing Xbox is really nice in a time like this, it lets me talk to the boys which is great because I don’t get to see them at all and on top of that it’s just really fun.”
Jake Shapiro ‘21 says, “Video games are a great way to pass the time and connect with my friends, the only bad thing is that I have to share with my three other brothers.”Video games are allowing students to pass the time at home but at the same time presenting a sense of fun and stability in this unpredictable world.
Hopefully, students will be able to adjust from video games to video classes as school begins to ramp back up.
