- Establish a good work ethic early on; it will pay off this year and for years to come.
- Build good relationships with your teachers and deans. Believe it or not, they actually help you become successful students.
- Find a healthy balance between your social and your academic life. Know when you need to complete work, but also know when to take a break.
- Try something new. There is a plethora of clubs and student-run organizations to choose from, like Spectrum!
- Have fun. You’re only in high school once, so make the most of it!

About the Contributors
Jason Rotenberg, Editor Emeritus
Hi, my name is Jason and I am a senior. I have been writing for Spectrum since I was a sophomore. I am currently an Editor Emeritus, but when I was editor last semester, I edited the Reviews and Recommendations page. My favorite part about Spectrum is covering the heavily talked about topics around the Blake Community. Outside of Spectrum, I love watching sports, playing sports, and eating hamburgers.
Evan Vezmar, Editor Emeritus
Hi, my name is Evan Vezmar, and I'm a senior. I began writing for Spectrum in my freshman year as a staff writer and became an editor in 10th grade. Last semester, I was a Managing Editor and the Opinions Editor. My favorite part of Spectrum is being able to give a voice to people who may not be able to through the news. In my free time, I like to read, play the piano, and fence.
