Picture this: It is a cold October or November weekend. You just finished your 35 pages of English homework and you sit down to watch hours of TV, whether it is football or Netflix. All you see when you look outside is orange, red, and yellow from the ground to the trees. This is the feeling of fall, what many consider the best season of the year. The only unfortunate part about the fall feeling is that it only occurs once a year, but there is a way to feel this way all the time: pumpkin-flavored foods. I will give you some suggestions on pumpkin foods from Trader Joe’s that can bring you an amazing fall feeling. Trader Joe’s has a unique selection of pumpkin foods compared to other options.
First, I tried Handheld Pies that were flavored apple mixed with pumpkin. When shopping for my desired pumpkin foods, these immediately drew my attention from the leaves to the pumpkins on the box. For only $4.49, two of these handheld treats per box are perfect when looking for pumpkin foods at a good price. Upon opening the box, I noticed that the pie was a little mushy and very fragile. This made me worry that the consistency when putting it in my mouth would be mushy and gross. This was not the case, however. To the touch of my mouth, the moist dough was crunchy and went very well with the mixed apple-pumpkin flavor of filling. All I could imagine while eating this was watching football on Thanksgiving. This handheld snack is perfect to encapsulate that fall feeling 365 days a year.
The second snack I tasted was Pumpkin Spice Cookies. For $3.99, getting over a dozen bite-sized cookies is an amazing value. Right as the box was opened, the smell of pumpkin spice rushed to my nose, reminding me of Thanksgiving and fall leaves. When I put these cookies in my mouth, I immediately tasted the flavor of pumpkin and cinnamon evoking the fall feeling inside of me. The frosting and crunch of the cookie also went very well together as a consistency in my mouth. On top of all of this, the cookies were shaped like pumpkins making for the perfect snack to eat on a cold NFL Sunday.
The third snack I tried was Pumpkin Blonde Brownies. For $4.49, getting eight pumpkin-filled brownies is very worth it. These brownies are near bite-sized with white chocolate chips and pecans in the middle. One thing I noticed when attempting to eat them was how crumbly and brittle they were, making it difficult to eat large bites. However, the amazing taste of pumpkin bread pecans, and white chocolate immediately make up for the crumbles.
The fall feeling that makes one imagine the cold brisk season of giving and football can be evoked by many delicious foods, making the football season and fall magic even sweeter.
